Dr. Yap’s dental career spans over two decades so far. As a surgically trained prosthodontist, he is able to offer his patients a wide range of treatment options, ranging from removable dental prosthetics to implant-retained “All on Four” dentures. From a young age, Dr. Yap has always loved the scientific field and being able to work directly with his hands. From there, the dental field seemed like a perfect fit for his strengths – and he was right!
Dr. Yap completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Universidad de Panama before completing a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Florida. Immediately following this, he was accepted to a three-year Prosthodontics Residency Program at NOVA Southeastern University, where he served as Chief Resident and focused on full mouth rehabilitation, the surgical placement of implants, and cosmetic dentistry. His skillset was broadened even further by obtaining a Prosthodontics Certification and publishing independent research on dental implants that helped pioneer the advancement of the “All on Four” protocol.
Today, Dr. Yap is passionate about attending continuing education whenever possible to further his skills and is a current member of the following organizations:
Dr. Yap’s parents have been married for over 50 years. He also has a sister, a brother, and four adorable nephews. Whenever he has free time, he enjoys keeping up with fitness and skiing.
